Job Summary/Person Specification

Further information

Your part in the programme would be to take on the role of a Visitor/Mentor. We would expect you to visit the unit at least once per week on a voluntary basis. We would arrange for you to spend 1:1 time with a young person, who because of distance, or other circumstances, do not receive visitors. These visits would give the young person a chance to speak to someone completely independent to the unit and we would expect you to act as a positive influence in the young person's life. We want local people to volunteer their time, knowledge, practical expertise and most importantly a listening ear.

You will also be required to provide brief written feedback on visits and pass on any concerns or issues that may arise from the visit to other members of staff if necessary.

Interviews to be held on Friday 8th September 2017.

Please note as per Children's Homes National Minimum Standards a worker aged 23 or older is required for this post.

Please note that it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post. This means that you must declare any criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings unless these are protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) order 1975 (as amended in 2013).
