Further information

This exciting role has opened up within the Partnerships and Commissioning Team who have responsibility for the procurement and commissioning of a range of services to support carers. The team also deals with the commissioning of direct payments support services and a pre-paid direct payment card system. Under the direction of the Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for helping to improve the provision of services in these two areas through effective partnership working and commissioning practice.

The team negotiates a range of services and manages contract administration by building relationships with providers and handles strategy development and service design. This post will have a particular emphasis on carers, including support for young carers and parent carers, and helping to deliver the aspirations of the Carers Strategy 2017 - 2020. The post holder may also be required to work across different aspects of the service as the need and opportunities arise, and this will predominantly relate to direct payments.

This is a part time (18.5 hours) opportunity offered on a 12 month limited term contract. Though welcome, it is not necessary to have direct experience of carers or direct payments commissioning or service development; the ability to learn quickly, build positive relationships and transferable skills will be welcome.

Interviews for this position will be held on 19 September 2017.
