Under the supervision of the Mental Health Services and DoLS Team Manager, you will provide supervision and support to Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHPs) carrying out their statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act (MHA) 1983.

In addition to your supervisory responsibilities, you will participate in the AMHP rota, and work with other agencies and services within an integrated health and social care model.

You will assist the Mental Health Services and DoLS Team Manager in the day to day management of the team, including prioritisation and allocation of work. On occasion you may be required to deputise for the Team Manager, with support from other managers as necessary.

The post holder will assist the Mental Health Services and DoLS Team Manager with tasks relating to the maintenance of the MHA s117 register and ensuring detained patients have their rights protected by a “nearest relative”, making court applications as necessary.
