The SportsPound Marketing Apprentice will work closely with the SportsPound Team and the network of providers and nominating agencies involved with the project, to support the marketing of the programme, events and activities across the district. The post will be managed by the Sports Programme Coordinators (job share) within the Councils Community Cultural Services Team with mentoring support. The post is a one year SportsPound Apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will be for 37 hours per week (52 weeks) and you will undertake a Level 2 Marketing course. This will involve travel to the college campus in Gloucester every 6-8 weeks.

The apprentice will receive on the job training and support to deliver a number of work streams such as marketing events and activities, digital technology, working with volunteers and participants and event management.

This post is funded through by South Gloucestershire Council and partners as part of a 270k Sport England Community Sport Activation Fund project to increase levels of participation for 3000 inactive residents across South Gloucestershire. The project is based around the SportsPound voucher which can be exchanged for free entry to over 250 local sports and physical activities. Now in its third year, SportsPound seeks to engage 1500 currently inactive people in 18000 activity sessions, and the role of the Marketing Apprentice is to support the Activator Team, the network of providing and nominating agencies and the participants themselves throughout this behaviour change process.


Interviews will be held on Monday 27th November 2017.
