The Gypsy, Roma and Traveller part of the Ethnic Minority Achievement Service is commissioned directly by the local authority to support it in fulfilling its statutory duties in relation to Gypsy, Roma, Traveller (GRT) access, retention and continuity in education.
The aims of the commissioned service are to provide high quality support in respect of:
- access to educational placement, attendance and Children Missing Education (CME)
- supporting LA monitoring of Elective Home Education (EHE) for GRT children
- multi-agency working to support GRT access to services
- promoting and supporting distance learning and learning agreements as an educational continuity strategy for the Showman Community
The Ethnic Minority Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS) is one of four services within Integra Schools that supports vulnerable groups of children and young people and their families.
The role of the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Inclusion Support Worker (Access and Attendance) is to implement agreed programmes of support, using a flexible approach, working in partnership with relevant school staff and families, in order to raise pupils attendance, achievement and attainment for GRT pupils.
A full UK driving licence and use of vehicle is essential.
Based at Broad Lane Offices.
This post is for 18.5 hours per week, Term Time Only. Please be informed, the quoted salary range will be pro-rated to reflect that it is a part time and term time only position.
