South Gloucestershire Council are currently recruiting a talented Assistant Project Manager to be based in our Badminton Road Office, Yate.

Part of this exciting and varied role will involve assisting with the delivery of Access WEST programme in South Gloucestershire. Access WEST will work with businesses, communities and educational institutions to facilitate growth in the local economy through increased uptake of walking and cycling, and to break down the barriers that prevent our residents from accessing work, education and training opportunities. A further part of the role will involve being part of the North Fringe to Hengrove Package (NFHP) MetroBus Project Delivery Team, which is currently managing the delivery of a new bus rapid transport scheme that will link areas of housing and economic growth in the North and East Fringe of South Gloucestershire, with a major regeneration area in South Bristol via Bristol City Centre. It will provide a fast, frequent and reliable public transport service using bus priority measures and new infrastructure including a new bus-only junction onto the M32 motorway. To succeed, you will be have experience in providing support to projects and a track record of helping to achieve successful project outcomes. You will be self-motivated, confident, articulate, possess excellent written and oral communication skills with a desire to progress in the field of project management. Candidates will be keen to progress to Chartered Project Manager status (through the Association for Project Management, APM) and undertake additional job-specific training.

Your approach to problem solving and passion for getting the job done will be complemented by your ability to work at the pace necessary to meet the requirements set by Project Managers, Project Sponsors, Programme Sponsors and the Director of the Environment and Community Services (ECS) Directorate.
