Catering Assistant – St Mary’s Primary School, Thornbury
• St Mary’s Primary School – 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only.
Summary of Post
We are looking for a committed individual to join the Schools Catering Service to assist in the kitchen and dining room as required in the preparation of food and food service, washing up, general cleaning and other tasks associated with catering. A moderate amount of lifting is necessary in the execution of the post holders duties such as the movement of dining furniture, saucepans and provisions.
This post has a starting hourly rate of £8.98, working 10 hours per week, Term Time Only (39 weeks per annum). The approximate salary before deductions is £3,942.00 per annum.
This post is based within Integra - Integra is the trading arm of South Gloucestershire Council
An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s Barred List checks will be required for this role.

Main Duties
The key duties include:
• Basic food preparation ensuring the highest possible standards of hygiene.
• Counter service
• Setting Tables and Chairs for Service
• Cleaning of the kitchen to include washing up
• Communication with pupils and staff in a polite and friendly manner.
