High Level Cleaning Operative

• 20 hours per week, All Year Round, 13:00 to 17:00 but with the ability to be flexible.

Summary of post

As a member of the mobile high level cleaning team, you will work under the direction of the High Level Cleaning Team Supervisor undertaking deep cleans of all school kitchen premises and non-school sites operated by Integra. In addition there will be the requirement to undertake additional ad hoc work as directed by either the HLCT Supervisor or the Operations Team Leader.

This post is based at Broad Lane, Yate and will cover various school and non-school locations in South Gloucestershire.

This post has a starting hourly rate of £9.55 and will require you to work all year round. The approximate starting salary (before deductions) for this post is £9,959.00 per annum. The annual leave entitlement equates to 24 days, this will be pro-rated for part time staff.

This role is available immediately, satisfactory to pre-employment checks being completed.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults Barred List checks will be required for this role.

Main duties

The role will require the post holder to use specialist chemicals to carry out specialist cleaning activities (over and above the tasks carried out by a cleaning operative).

The key duties include:

• Specialised cleaning tasks such as; carpet and upholstery shampooing, floor renovation, polish stripping etc.
• Carrying out in depth and deep cleaning tasks working with specialist chemicals including corrosives and irritants
• Regularly working above floor level
• Using specialist equipment to work at height from tower scaffolding or electric cherry pickers/scissor lifts
• Specialist equipment which may include the use of power washers, floor sanding machinery and industrial scrubber dryer’s and carpet shampooing machines.
• Working flexibly, responding to emergencies outside normal working shift patterns if required.
• Organising resources in an effective and efficient manner to fulfil day to day operational requirements.

Essential

• Ability to drive with current driving licence
• Previous experience of cleaning (domestic or commercial)
• To communicate with all customers and colleagues in a polite and friendly manner (both verbal and written)
• To be able to follow instructions, work unsupervised or as part of a team
• To be able to lift and move cleaning equipment and materials (approximately 15 kilograms)


Desirable

• Experience in using cleaning equipment and chemicals (training will be given)
• To be able to problem solve/ work using your own initiative
• To have an organised methodical approach
• To be able to achieve and maintain a high standard of work
• Previous experience of similar roles would be a distinct advantage
