Young Carers Service Sessional (Bank) Worker/s
£23,588 - £26,162 (FTE)

At Carers Support Centre (CSC) we provide a wide range of information, advice and support services for unpaid carers of all ages. Our Young Carers Service provides help and support to children and young people, their families, and professionals.

Young carers are children and young people, aged 8-18, who look after someone in their family who may have a disability, long-term illness, or be affected by mental ill health or substance misuse.

Young carers may look after parents, care for a brother or sister, or another family member; taking on adult level responsibilities, which can impact on their own health, wellbeing, education and result in them becoming social isolated.

We are currently looking to recruit Sessional team members, to assist during staff absences and peak periods. Our team here is very supportive, dynamic, creative and work hard to ensure that young carers are identified, have access to appropriate support and fulfil their potential. At times Sessional Workers will have their own small caseload.

The successful candidate/s will work with the team to improve the health, well-being and safeguard the interests of young carers adversely affected by their caring roles, for family members in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire by:

• providing individual tailored 1:1 support, and advocacy
• taking a ‘whole family’ approach to delivering high-quality, effective and well-managed casework;
• responding to referrals and carrying out statutory assessments,

If you would like to know more about this role, please call Kama McKenzie Young Carers Service Manager on 07821258383 for further information.

Applications for this role, can only be made via an application form, which can be found on our website along with a job description & person specification and a copy of our employee benefits (CV’s not accepted) www.carerssupportcentre.org.uk/vacancies
