How you’ll make a difference

You’ll play an important role in ensuring the Complaints, Freedom of Information and Information Governance service provides excellent customer service to our customers and communities.


What will you be doing?

You’ll manage the team ensuring team members receive clear organisational direction, development and the work meets regulations and codes of practice.

You will be contributing in departmental projects to improve the quality and standard of service provision or manage smaller projects in your own specialist area. This will involve monitoring and reporting on service standards within your service area in order to improve processes and services to customers.

You’ll be contributing to the identification of organisational issues and problems in order to support decision making by providing specialist advice and recommendations in the form of presentations, reports, briefings and consultations. You will research and collect information to compile and submit reports consulting with customers ensuring that sound recommendations are made.

You will provide expert and sound advice to colleagues and customers, and keep up to date with developments to ensure customers are well informed and that service delivery meets changing requirements. You’ll be responsible for ensuring customer queries and complaints received by the team are resolved and major issues are reported using set procedures and regulations and codes of practice for are followed.


What we need from you:

You’ll have a degree level qualification or equivalent and have relevant practical experience in management, backed by evidence of appropriate specialist knowledge.

You can demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of the relevant regulations and codes of practice, which may include broader department awareness.

You will have experience of, and the ability to supervise, motivate and develop a team and have proven high level communication, influencing and negotiating skills.

You will have good analytical and problem solving skills and experience in dealing with competing issues and identifying priorities.
