Exciting New Opportunity within Blackhorse Primary School

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Pupil & Family Support Worker to work within our hardworking and dedicated team of teachers and support staff. The successful candidate will support children and their families attending Blackhorse Primary School to overcome barriers to success and support individual children and their families to engage fully and maximize their opportunities for personal development and educational achievement. Blackhorse offers a warm and supportive atmosphere in a well-resourced environment and has a dedicated team and governing body.

We are looking for a person who can support our children and families by:
• Supporting children, parents and carers through effective and empowered relationships
• Working as a key member of the inclusion team
• Offering one to one support and advice on sensitive issues or challenges such as parenting, bedtime routines, meeting the needs of the child
• Signposting to other agencies/services
• Promoting positive behaviour and routines both in home and at school
• Supporting and improving school attendance and punctuality
• Being a school point of contact to discuss concerns
• Support families by taking a lead role in setting up, running and evaluating the impact of SAFeh process

• You have excellent interpersonal skills with both adults and children;
• You have high expectations of what all pupils can achieve and are able to motivate and inspire confidence in pupils and parents;

• You have proven experience of working as part of a successful team;
• You want to be a part of the whole school development process.

This will be a fixed term, part-time post for 6 hrs per week until 31 August 2021 when it will be subject to a financial review by the Governing Body. (Exact hours will be agreed at interview).
