Summary of Post

You will be part of a team responsible for HR policy, operations and employee data. Your role will be to provide accurate and insightful ‘people metrics’ data both standard, statutory and commissioned. You will also be required to work on projects, carrying out research and delivering findings in a well presented and easily understandable, appropriate way.

Main Duties:

Research, analyse and evaluate information which may include legislative and regulatory areas, to enhance decision making.

Contribute to the monitoring of projects and reporting on cost effectiveness and quality standards.

Work flexibly, undertake effective research and compile relevant data and present findings in a clear, concise appropriate format. Solve problems and deliver solutions which work for the customer (managers and employees) and are legally compliant.

Build relationships/engage successfully with your contacts and customers. In order to provide context you may have some experience or understanding of local government although your willingness to learn and curiosity will compensate for any lack previous experience/knowledge in this area.

The Team:

The team focus is on continuous improvement and works to simplify the customer journey through development of systems, self-serve options and streamlined employee lifecycle activity on a council-wide basis. Data is compiled to meet statutory and organisational requirements, and inform decision making. The team is currently made up of 7 employees working both part and full time and is part of a larger HR division.

Selection Criteria

Your ability to demonstrate the council’s values and behaviours will be apparent in your interactions with others and the work you deliver.


Essential:

Good numeracy, report writing, and IT skills which enable you to deliver quality work to deadlines, manage competing demands and use your initiative.

Able to work independently when required and provide effective analysis and presentation of issues, options and recommendations.

Possess strong systems and data management skills and have the ability to translate analysis and reporting requirements in to effective and streamlined reporting solutions.

Educated to degree level or possess an equivalent level of relevant experience.

Desirable:

Experience in project management.

Experience of working in HR or on HR related projects.
