An opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to join the Business Support team at Badminton Road offices. You will be trained (at Level 2 in Business Administration) and gain experience in the business support team.

Over the duration of the 13 month apprenticeship you will be trained and gain work experience of carrying out a variety of duties competently and effectively. You will also complete a course of study and have the opportunity to obtain work-related professional qualifications.

You will receive supervision, guidance and support from your workplace supervisor and a workplace mentor.

You will be working within a very large team.

Please note that you will be expected to undertake a basic skills assessment as part of the selection process. These will take place at SGS College, Filton Avenue, Filton, Bristol, BS34 7AT on either Monday 12th November at 2pm or Thursday 15th November at 9am.

Main Duties

As an apprentice in this role, you will be providing business support across the Children, Adults and Health department. You will be providing administrative support to managers and interacting with customers, colleagues and partners to maintain strong working relationships.

You will be required to collate, maintain records and update systems. Communicate effectively to service users, professionals and partnership agencies using a variety of media. Deal with email queries on a daily basis and process. Handle incoming post, scan documents and save to internal specialist systems, process finance requests and help with specialist projects.

You will be trained and gain experience in providing a front line service for internal and external service users and on internal systems used within the department.

You will be required to complete a Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

Selection Criteria

Essential

•Must hold a minimum qualification of 3 grade C’s at GCSE including English, Maths, or equivalent or be willing to work towards Level 2 in English and Maths.

•Ability to develop good communication skills person to person, on the telephone and in writing.

•You will have good attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, error free work.

•Good IT skills in the use of computer packages, such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
