Salary: £28,785 - £31,374 pro rata to hours worked.

Working Pattern: LTC (12 months)/ Part Time (18.5 hours pw)

You will make a difference by providing meaningful opportunities for adults who have experienced barriers to education by enabling them to re-engage with learning.


What does a typical day look like?

You’ll be responsible for developing, organising and monitoring courses to meet the needs of local residents, partners and employers. This will involve communicating with a range of organisations and community learning providers to ensure their participation in engagement, progression and tracking of learners.

Being creative you will develop and deliver learning activities by working with and on behalf of learner groups and community based learning providers. This engages learners in the community by building interest, motivation and commitment.

You will help with the planning of community learning by identifying needs and acting as advocates on behalf of communities. Working with other team members on projects or event organisation you’ll be meeting and working with partner organisations and booking tutors and venues. This will involve sharing information and assisting the voluntary and community sector contributing to learning.

Contributing to effective management and ensuring targets are met by data monitoring, reporting and quality procedures. You will need to implement and monitor all engagement activities and sub-contracting arrangements in line with Council regulations, agreed budgets and targets.

What we need from you:

A recognised teaching qualification at level 3 or 4, relevant to teaching adults.

Experience in adult or further education teaching, community development work, information, advice and guidance, organising learning opportunities in a variety of contexts.

Networking and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive and effecting working relationships at all levels through both verbal and written means.

The ability to make effective decisions to organise work to agreed deadlines either as a member of team or working alone.

Have project management skills and be able to supervise and support the work of adult learning tutors/volunteers in a relevant area of work.
