Community Learning Senior Administrator


Working as part of the Community Learning Team you will provide a wide range of administrative and financial tasks for colleagues, ensuring an efficient and effective service and ensuring timely and accurate completion of work and oversee team administration procedures.

The core team currently consists of 2 other administrators, 5 Development Workers 2 Team Leaders. Working together with our team of 30 part-time tutors and volunteers you will have the opportunity to development learning opportunities that can develop residents and empower them to take on new challenges and opportunities.

The service is delivered through a consortium with Bristol City and North Somerset Councils and is currently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

This is a part time (22.2 hours over 4 days) and permanent contract.

Main Duties

To work with colleagues to ensure an efficient and effective service and ensuring timely and accurate completion of work

To monitor and maintain records for the team ensuring systems effectively meet identified needs and service targets.

To developing the management information provided from the database, keeping records updated and accurate, including producing reports as needed.

To implement and manage the ongoing development of the information systems and efficient and effective business processes within the Team.

To help with research and collation of information for reports and work with officers to draft documentation across a variety of work areas related to Community Learning.

To ensure consistently supportive and high quality customer relations and communicate any issues to senior members

To support and oversee all admin procedures including financial procedures and exam processing.

Selection Criteria

Essential
• Significant experience in organisation and administration across a range of different disciplines and skills in a similar environment or within a similar role
• 5 grade C’s at GCSE (or equivalent) including English and Maths or relevant experience to an equivalent level.
• IT knowledge and its practical application, including skills and experience using Microsoft Office Software and databases.
• Ability to work in a flexible and resilient way to meet service deadlines.
• Good communication skills with a wide range of contacts including team members, service users and partner organisations.
• The ability to present information effectively in verbal and written formats.
• Experience of financial procedures
• Proven ability to use your initiative, and to work independently and to established deadlines.

Desirable
• Experience using Civica and/or Learner/Client Databases
• Experience of office management
