Main Duties

You will be employed on a sessional basis on a zero hours contract; under the direction of the Healthy Weight Coordinator, you will deliver group sessions and/or tailored support sessions to families with children who are above a healthy weight. You will work with each family and relevant partners to help each child and their family to make healthy lifestyle changes.

You will deliver 1:1 and group sessions following the Reach scheme of work.

You will maintain a record and comment form for work completed and submit these at agreed times.


Selection Criteria

Essential

Understanding of the needs of service users with good interpersonal skills, able to demonstrate well developed communication skills and the ability to build relationships.

You will have attended relevant training such as nutrition and physical activity.

You will have good recording and admin skills. You will be able to manage risk both using information prior to working with clients but also as situations arise.

You will have considerable experience of working with customers with complex needs.

Demonstrable ability to write clear concise reports with a good level of IT skills and the ability to use or be trained in use of specialist in house systems

You will have knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice and support mechanisms such as child protection, lone working and communication channels with the Healthy Weight Coordinator

Exemplifying the Council's values and behaviours

Desirable

A qualification in physical activity and/or nutrition e.g. NVQ 3 or equivalent.
