Further information

Applications are still open for the Frontline social work qualification programme.

Available in the South West for the first time.

Last 2 weeks to apply - closing date Monday 19th November 2018.

The opportunity

Frontline is a charity with a mission to transform the lives of vulnerable children by recruiting and developing outstanding individuals to be leaders in social work and broader society.

This year for the first time we’ll be partnering with several local authorities in the South West to deliver the Frontline programme and are currently recruiting participants to this region.

Frontline seeks to attract high performing graduates and career changers into the profession who have the right combination of resilience, values, empathy, relational and intellectual attributes to become outstanding social workers. The programme has a particular focus on preparing its participants to work in statutory child in need / child protection services.

If you join our programme, you'll earn as you learn, get world-class training, and develop a range of invaluable skills to enable you to make real change in social work and beyond.

The programme

The two-year programme sees participants placed within the same local authority throughout, with access to ongoing support and excellent learning and development opportunities.

Following a five-week residential training programme, you will spend two years working in a local authority children’s services department, where you will start your career in social work. You will work directly with children, families, schools, health partners, courts and the police, to empower families to achieve positive change.

The first year qualifies you as a social worker through direct work with children and families. In the second year you will work as a newly qualified social worker responsible for your own caseload and will complete a fully-funded master’s qualification.

Social work is a leadership profession in which you must inspire, persuade and bring out the best in diverse groups of people. To help you develop those skills you will benefit from our leadership development coaching, which will support you to work with purpose to bring about change in a range of challenging settings.
