How you’ll make a difference

Could you be HR’s lead expert in HR systems, understanding business needs and driving systems transformation and improvement?

You will develop and introduce systems based improvements which improve user experience, efficiency and new ways of working.

What will you be doing?

You will lead the technical development and maintenance of core HR systems, driving systems improvement/ transformation to improve both manager and employee experience and operational efficiency. Focusing on HR systems innovation, both current and future, in line with the council’s digital infrastructure.

You will act as a Super-user resolving technical problems, systems development etc. for HR staff and system users and acting as an interface between HR teams and IT staff.

You will liaise with product suppliers to ensure upgrades are properly implemented and will oversee contract performance as the main relationship manager with the HR/ Payroll system provider.

You will be required to lead business case development for HR systems improvement and investment across the division working collaboratively with IT and business customers, co-ordinating appropriate user testing, developing training materials and communications as well as delivering user training as required.

You may also occasionally be involved in producing and analysing data and/or assisting with policy research and development, especially where there is an impact on existing systems and processes.

What we need from you:

You will have either CIPD qualification, equivalent degree level qualification or substantial relevant current experience of HR systems including good technical know-how of systems and applications.
You will have a proven track record in either leading or working collaboratively to develop new systems and ways of working.

You will have strong data and analytical skills including advanced skills in Excel.
