Summary of Post

Under the general supervision of the Finance Officer, you will provide general finance support, departmental processes and systems to deliver against a range of performance indicators to meet the expectations of the departmental customers.

You will be responsible for ensuring that payments are made accurately within the Set timetable.

Main Duties

Input and update financial information on in-house financial systems and resolving any finance queries as appropriate. Liaise with external providers regarding income and payments.

Utilising systems such as CIVICA and other payment financial systems, ensuring all payments are promptly actioned and in accordance with the Authority’s financial regulations. To liaise with debtors and creditors to resolve queries.

To carry out other duties commensurate with the grade of the post.

Selection Criteria

The postholder must have proven, demonstrable ability and experience of working in an organisation that delivers a range of financial and data processing services.

The postholder will need to demonstrate their ability to deal with sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.

The ability to analyse and evaluate standard information from a range of sources in order to present findings and make decisions.

The ability to work with minimal supervision is essential.

Good interpersonal skills are essential as you will need to communicate with a diverse range of people.

You will have a good understanding and experience in the use of IT within a Finance setting.

A minimum of three GCSEs Grade C (including English Language and Maths), or equivalent or a relevant equivalent vocational qualification, or able to demonstrate equivalent level

Experience of working in a team that provides range of financial and data processing services.
