INTERNAL Business Support Officer
This post is restricted to permanent and temporary employees of South Gloucestershire Council.


Salary: £19,945 - £21,166 pro rata
Working Pattern: 6 month secondment/ Part time (22 hours)
Location: Badminton Road, Yate.


How you’ll make a difference

As a Business Support Officer you will contribute in the confidential Business and Administration in some of the Council’s most valued departments supporting children and vulnerable adults.


What does a typical day look like?

You’ll be providing advice to customers, contacts, external organisations and colleagues giving appropriate guidance about policies, responding to queries, complaints and ensuring relationships are maintained.

Daily carrying out research; collate data and present information within your area of service specialism.

You will carry out a wide and varied range of administrative tasks to assigned projects ensuring written reports are compiled, support is provided and records are accurate.

You will apply knowledge and experience about the needs of senior managers and the organisation to solve problems, deliver work to deadlines, organise urgent meetings and solving complex queries.

What we need from you:

You will have relevant experience in organisation and administration across a range of different disciplines and skills, and to have experience of supporting a senior manager.

You should have National Vocational Qualification (level 3) Administrative or equivalent and a minimum of 50 wpm typing with IT knowledge and its practical application, including experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

You will be flexible and resilient with good attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to work on own initiative to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

You’ll have good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collate and communicate information in verbal and written formats.
