Salary: £32,383 per annum pro rata to contracted hours
Working Pattern: Permanent - Full time – 37 hours – Term time only + 5 days

How you’ll make a difference

You will make a difference as an Education Welfare Team Leader by supporting schools and families to improve the attendance of children and young people in our schools.

What does a typical day look like?

You will work directly with a number of schools and their families to improve attendance.

You will be responsible for liaising with the statutory Attendance, Exclusion & Licensing Team to ensure compliance with legislation.

You will model delivery and provide advice and guidance with regard to more complex cases to the rest of the team.

You will promote high professional standards within the team to ensure consistency in the way in which team members deliver the service across multiple schools and academies both within and external to South Gloucestershire.

You will be responsible for holding regular team meetings, 121s and PDPRs with the team and lead on the induction of new team members.

What we need from you:

You will hold a degree or equivalent professional qualification e.g. a professional qualification in Social Work, Teaching, Youth Work, Education Welfare Studies or an equivalent qualification with appropriate professional registration.

You will have substantial post qualification experience within a similar service area.

You will have an excellent understanding of the legal framework for attendance.

You will have good leadership and management skills.
