Community Engagement Forum
CEFs provide a platform for building strong and cohesive communities in which everyone, regardless of background, has a real sense of community involvement.

Aims for CEF’s:
• Promote pride in the local area as a safe, thriving and pleasant place to live, work and play; aiming to reduce crime, disorder and drug and alcohol misuse and work to improve the quality of life of residents by identifying community aspirations, needs and local priorities
• Work in partnership to develop ideas put forward by the local community into projects that tackle identified local issues and meet community needs
• Empower local people to have a greater voice and influence over local decision making and service delivery by increasing the strength, capacity and engagement of the community
• The CEFs are formed by local people working with a partnership of key organisations, such as Avon and Somerset Police, Avon Fire and Rescue, voluntary and community organisations and Town and Parish Councils.

How you’ll make a difference

You will work alongside the Community Engagement Officers and be part of a pool of note takers, providing note taking expertise to the CEF meetings. The 14 CEF’s each meet three times a year, Monday to Thursday and generally in the evenings between 7pm and 9pm.

What does an average day look like?
• In this role you will attend Community Engagement Forums, ensuring outcomes and actions are accurately recorded. You will be providing administrative support to Community Engagement Officers and customers by preparing documents, reports and other materials to a good, precise standard using agreed formats and software. You will need to provide customers with basic information on the CEFs, ensuring that an effective courteous customer service is given.

What we need from you:
You will need a minimum of 3 GCSE’s or equivalent to include Maths and English or a relevant vocational qualification equivalent to NQV Level 2 (eg, business admin), or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge.

Ability to take and type up accurate minutes of meetings, with the skill to format documents to a high standard, preferably with a fluid typing speed and/or short hand speed of 100 words per minute.

You will need to be self-motivated, organised and able to complete tasks within the necessary and agreed timescales.

We’re making a difference: be part of it!
