This post is restricted to permanent and temporary employees of South Gloucestershire Council.

We have a new opportunity in our Strategic Planning Policy & Specialist Advice Team to provide supervisory support to the Team Manager in leading and managing the conservation, heritage, and urban design specialist functions of the team. The post is available at Hay grade 4 and will be paid as an additional allowance.

The post holder will also be expected to undertake professional work tasks relevant to their area of professional experience and expertise within the SPP&SA Team. In supporting the Team Manager this list is not exhaustive but illustrates the nature of tasks:

• Regular 1:1 catch up sessions with team members to review overall team and individual performance/ delivery of work tasks, staff issues plus any matters the Head of Service asks to be undertaken
• Collection and co-ordination of performance data to feedback to the Team Manager for reporting
• Supporting with managing team budgets and financial planning
• Supporting with managing concerns, complaints and FOI requests
• Supporting with co-ordinating team responses to: SGC corporate consultations, technical requests for information, official CLG/ Government consultations etc.
• Supporting with managing items to senior management, elected members and supporting council decision making processes.
• Delivering initiatives that Corporate, ECS DMT, and the Head of Service have asked teams to undertake – e.g. H&S issues, data protection
• Deputising at SMT and/or other meetings as appropriate
