The Locality Hubs are part of Integrated Services which is responsible for the safety and welfare of children and young people. The Integrated Services Department collectively bring together and provide a complete range of children’s services within South Gloucestershire.

As part of the Business Support Team your role will be crucial in providing an excellent, flexible, diverse administrative and financial service to both Social Care and Preventative Services.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a busy environment, possess high standards of administrative and IT skills.

Main Duties

As part of the team you will carry out a range of administrative and financial tasks supporting the professional teams within the Hub.

A key function of the role will include the collecting, inputting, and maintaining information held on specialised database.

The role supports the financial aspect of the Integrated Services Team by using the council’s financial systems to input data, purchasing goods/services, recoding and processing petty cash claims. The role also provides administrative support which will include word processing.

Selection Criteria

Essential

1. You will hold a minimum qualification of 3 grade C’s at GCSE (or equivalent qualification) including English and Maths, or you will hold equivalent relevant experience.

2. You will have good literacy skills and able to write letters.

3. You will have good communication skills that will enable you to effectively communicate with service users, professionals and Health colleagues using a variety of media.

4. You will have good numeracy and IT skills and will have previous experience of IT systems and maintaining computerised record systems including running standard reports. You will also have experience of basic financial procedures i.e. petty cash, invoicing etc

5. You will have good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

1. You will have experience of working in an environment related to the service area (Children’s Services) or within a similar role.

2. Hold a qualification in IT or word processing

3. Experience/knowledge of processes and procedures related to children’s services

4. Experience in ICS and CAPITA


Additional Information

This is a 9 – 12 month limited term contract to cover maternity.
The post is covered by our flexi leave entitlement.
