Contract: Temporary – to cover maternity leave
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Hay 8 (£25,295 - £27,905)

A position as an Interim Marketing and Media Officer has arisen at Avon Fire and Rescue Service (AF&RS) to support with maternity leave cover within the Corporate Communications department. Within this role, the Marketing and Media Officer will be responsible for designing, co-ordinating and delivering the annual Service wide marketing campaigns and events which feed into National Fire and Rescue Service campaigns.

If appointed, you will design and develop targeted and creative AF&RS marketing campaigns, using audience insight and behaviour changing strategies to improve the Services ability to communicate effectively within our communities.
Your responsibilities will include the day to day running and oversight of AF&RS social media presence and representation as a Media Officer providing a proactive and a reactive function. There will be an element of working out-of-hours (which will be on a rotated basis) where you will act as a spokesperson to the local and national media on incidents and other organisational issues.

The successful candidate will hold a degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject such as communication, or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of theoretical and professional knowledge.
It is also essential that the successful candidate has proven experience in creating and developing creative and effective marketing campaigns, promotional material and presentations.
