Supported Housing Officer

We have an opportunity in our highly skilled dispersed housing team for a new colleague to join us in making a difference for young people moving on from homelessness. Our passionate and hardworking team does this through supporting young people to achieve their goals and aspiration and you could be a part of this amazing effort.

1625 Independent People (1625ip) is a leading youth homeless charity based in the South West, working with over 2,500 young people. We have strong local partnerships and adhere to the best practice in the sector, thereby building trusting relationships between young people and 1625ip staff is at the core of our work.

What we are looking for:
•You are an experienced housing management officer who is used to providing support and guidance to vulnerable young people. You engage young people with confidence and passion.
•You are empathetic and you truly understand the needs of homeless young people, young people leaving care, and the barriers they face.
•You love being around young people and working with them.
•You are an enthusiastic team player; you are super organised and always open to new ideas and creative ways of working.
•You are committed to the principles of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and the use of reflective practice in your work.

What you will be doing:
•By developing individual support plans that promote independent living skills including accommodation, EET and wellbeing, you will help our young people achieve independence.
•Using your knowledge and creativity, you will help our young people maximise their income and manage any arrears, ensuring optimum income is achieved.
•Using your problem-solving skills, you will explore move-on options with young people as you support them toward independent living.
•By being well organised, efficient and effective you will undertake a host of housing management tasks including health and safety checks to ensure the safety of young people, colleagues and properties.

You will be in the Dispersed Housing Team and you will be line managed by a Deputy Housing Manager.

•Hours per week: 37.5
•Contract type: Permanent
•Salary: £24,799 – £26,317 per annum
•The location: Based in central Bristol visiting properties across Bristol.
