Young Carers Service Manager – Bristol and South Gloucestershire
30 hours per week
£32,176 to £34,045 FTE (pro rata)

You will manage and lead a diverse team supporting young carers in Bristol and South Gloucestershire and as a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will also make an active contribution to the management and development of the organisation as a whole and deputise on occasions for the CEO.

You will have strong leadership ability, a track record of achievement, and relevant transferable skills and experience. You will be fully committed to improving the lives of young carers so they have the same opportunities and life chances as other children and young people of a similar age.

Based in our Fishponds office, you will lead the development and continued improvement of our support service to young carers. This is a key post requiring vision, creativity, sensitivity to young carers’ issues, ability to make a personal impact and the skills to lead and inspire a dynamic and diverse staff team, delivering and/or supporting frontline services.

The post will require you to have an excellent understanding of:
• the needs and issues facing young carers
• the impact on them of carrying out a substantial caring role
• significant experience of child protection issues as a Designated Safeguarding Lead
• at least three years’ experience of developing, delivering and managing projects and/or services for children and young people in the public or voluntary sector.
