Hours: 15 hours per week, term time only. Monday – Friday mornings.

Salary: Hay 9 (£7,486 - £8,599 per annum)

This is a temporary post, subject to funding that will cease when the funding ceases or the child leaves the school.

An SEN Teaching Assistant is required, to support a child in Year 4 with complex learning needs. Level 2 TA qualification and English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) required. Experience of supporting children’s learning on a 1:1 level will be valuable.

Please note that we are also advertising for an afternoon only HLTA post, which could work alongside this post for the right applicant.
The post holder will
• have the skills to build a positive, nurturing relationship that models inclusion, patience and high expectations
• have extensive experience of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
• be able to create and initiate activities as part of an engaging curriculum
• have a sense of humour and be patient but firm with a clear and consistent approach and high expectations of learning and behaviour
• have experience of working with children with ASD and delivering bespoke interventions to support these needs
• be willing and able to support the medical needs of the child
• have a level two teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
• be a team player with good communication skills, co-ordinating with all stakeholders including parents, other professionals and teachers
• ideally have experience with implementing programmes following advice from professionals such as the educational psychologist
• be creative and show initiative to ensure a variety of teaching approaches using different mediums
• have experience of liaising with outside agencies
• have a good knowledge of the SEN code of Practice, Education Health Care Plans and providing accurate feedback and setting SMART targets.
