Hours: 26 Hours and 15 minutes per week, term time only (Monday to Friday)

Salary: Hay 10 (£11,865 - £12,844 per annum)

This is a temporary post subject to funding that will end when the funding ceases or the child leaves the school.

We are looking to appoint a Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream reception class supporting a child who has a primary need of Global Developmental Delay. The successful candidate will have experience of supporting children who need support with
• Expressive communication skills; sharing thoughts and feelings and saying what she wants
• Receptive language skills; difficulty understanding the expectations of others outside the context of routines
• Concentration and attention
• developing play skills
• retaining information
• regulating emotions
• Fine and gross motor skills and core strength
• Toileting
• Self-care and independence skills

The hours for this post are 26.25 hours, (Mon-Fri), term time only.

The person appointed will require a good standard of general education, normally evidenced by 3 or more GCSEs (including Maths and English) at Grade C or above, or other equivalents. Previous experience of working with children in a primary educational setting is required and some vocational training/qualification in the care, development or education of children would be desirable.
