How you’ll make a difference

You will make a difference by helping the Council and partners to better understand what our residents and communities want, to make sure we deliver the best services possible.

What will you be doing?

As lead specialist you will be carrying out consultation work in the Council, providing a central point of expertise for public consultation and customer satisfaction.

You will act as a champion for consultation, promoting its strategic value both internally and externally, and ensure information meets the needs of services and supports corporate decision making.

You will coordinate the Council’s consultation work programme, planning when we will carry out consultations and negotiating timescales with customers.

What we need from you:
You will have relevant experience of consultation, engagement and/or market research with specialist knowledge of consultation and customer satisfaction methodologies and approaches, including a knowledge of relevant legislation.
You will possess a related degree qualification and/or membership of a relevant professional body.
You will have experience of interpreting information including data analysis from a variety of sources to draw logical conclusions and make recommendations, adjusting the reporting style to fit the audience with excellent numeracy skills.
You will have experience of managing a team and motivating staff to achieve objectives.
You will have proven ability to communicate at all levels and construct effective working relationships at all levels, including with Elected Members, Senior Officers and external clients.
