Exciting New Opportunity within Blackhorse Primary School Resource Base.

Blackhorse Primary School is looking for a highly skilled Resource Base Teaching Assistant to work with AS pupils and pupils with Social Communication Difficulties. This is a very exciting opportunity for a committed and versatile person to join our fantastic team of staff within our 22 place Resource Base, judged as Outstanding by Ofsted.

Our aim is to nurture the extraordinary talents and creativity that children with special needs often possess to enable them to flourish, experience success and fulfil their potential, in a safe and supportive learning environment. Blackhorse is a school of high challenge and high expectations and supporting this is a team of dedicated staff whose shared belief is that all our children, including our Resource Base children can and do succeed with our help.

Our Resource Base is very much a part of Blackhorse Primary School. Some of the children are fully included within mainstream classes, some include part-time whilst others remain in the Resource Base with a view to including at least some of the time by their first annual review.

The successful candidate will need to have a good standard of general education, to include literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ2 in English and Maths. NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or other relevant qualification with at least one year’s practical experience of working with children, or a minimum of 3 years previous experience of working with children in an educational context with evidence of relevant training in the appropriate age range or curriculum/learning area.

• You have high expectations of what all pupils can achieve and are able to motivate and inspire confidence in pupils and parents;
• You have good IT skills and understand how IT can be used to support learning;

• You have proven experience of working as part of a successful team;
• You want to be a part of the whole school development process.

This is a fixed term, part time position for 32.5 hours per week, term time only until 31 August 2021 when it will be subject to Governor Review.
