Broad Lane, Yate.
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £21,589 - £24,799 pa (depending on experience)

Join a highly successful team maintaining the Street Lighting in South Gloucestershire. Having relevant knowledge of testing, inspection, and maintenance of electrical installations, you will support the maintenance of street lighting units and works on all types of Street Lighting Units (including High Mast Lighting), traffic signs and other types of electrical installations.

Main Duties:
- To maintain all types of Street Lighting Units including High Mast Lighting and traffic signs.
- Undertake the erection and wiring of lighting installations
- Diagnose faults and carry out the necessary remedial action
- Install and maintain other electrical installations (e.g. subway pumps)
- Undertake the erection and wiring of lighting installations
- Check and certify timesheets, daily work record sheets and other associated
documents.
- Ensure the correct utilisation of plant and other resources including the recovery of salvaged materials.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety Legislation, Codes of Practice and Authority policies.
- Assist with the security arrangements in respect of material, plant and vehicles onsite.
- Act for the Electrical Supervisor in his/her absence in relation to electrical works.
- Participate in the supervision of sub-contractors employed by the Civil
Engineering Services Division
- Record works for valuation and payment purposes.
- Drive/use mechanical plant including lifting platforms, power tools, hydraulic jacks etc.

Essential Criteria:
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship or approved electrical qualification.
- Experience in testing, inspection and maintenance of electrical installations.
- Appropriate knowledge of testing, inspection, and maintenance of electrical installations
- Appropriate knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Ability to co-ordinate and prioritise work and meet deadlines as an individual or as team leader
- Competence in written, oral and electronic communication and record keeping.
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of customer care.
- Possess a current driving licence that enables you to drive a vehicle up to 7.5t

Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in testing, inspection, and maintenance of street lighting installations
- Inspection and Testing City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent
- 17th edition IEE regulations
- G39 or similar electrical authorisation certificate
- Current driving licence to drive up to 7.5t

Special Notes or Conditions:
-Be capable of working both from plant and ladder and at heights up to 15 metres.
- You will be expected to work outside normal working hours as necessitated by operational requirements.
